British Antarctic Survey Centre – Practical Completion

JML Building Services on March 23, 2017

The iconic British Antarctic Survey Centre has now reaches practical completion and the building is now occupied by its tenant. This challenging façade consisting of 17mm thick Alivia Glass Panels the only one of its kind outside of Europe proved a challenging project right through from the design stage to the complex installation, which we, at JML thoroughly relished as it provided a great platform to showcase our versatile skill set, and one which we are immensely proud of.

The unique façade ‘The Innovation Centre’ is a joint venture between British Antarctic Survey, NERC and University of Cambridge, and is situated on the Cambridge University estate, it is the first of many redevelopment schemes within the campus, the developed has a design reference to the molecular structure of an ice crystal, incorporating a hexagonal pattern within a glass cladding system & provides a great space for the Antarctic Survey Centre team.
