Minsthorpe Leisure Centre, Wakefield

The new £5m Minsthorpe Leisure Centre in Wakefield opened its doors on 15 March, on time and on budget.

Consisting of 25m (82ft), six-lane, swimming pool, a 60-station health and fitness club and a group exercise studio, which has been received enthusiastically by the local community.

JML worked tirelessly pre-tender with Willmott Dixon to value engineer the scheme and provide a budget alternative façade but maintaining the architectural brief.

TATA Trimapanel flat was proposed for the walls in contrasting colours, the Confidex® Guarantee for up to 40 years for the weather side of industrial and commercial buildings without the need for inspection or maintainence ticked all the relevant boxes. We took our client to the TATA factory in Shotton, where they could see first-hand the composite production line in operation.
